IV Therapy in East Brunswick, NJ
IV therapy delivers vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids directly to your bloodstream. Instead of taking daily, small doses of these nutrients in oral form, IV therapy delivers larger doses directly to the areas of your body that need it most.
When nutrients are administered intravenously, they avoid the destruction of the digestive process. The direct access of IV therapy provides better and faster absorption than can be achieved with pills.
Dr. Jenny Liu offers four different IV therapy regimens – each of which features a different type of nutritional benefit.
1. Immune Enhancement Infusion
This IV therapy regimen combines high doses of vitamin C, B vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and also glutathione for additional immune system support.
It can be used as a supplemental treatment for:
- Advanced aging
- Chronic pain and disability
- Gastrointestinal infections and digestive problems
- General health maintenance
- Immunity boost prior to important events, including meetings or travel
- Lyme disease
- Pneumonia and other respiratory illnesses
- Pre- and post-operative support
2. Glutathione Infusion
Glutathione is considered the mother of all antioxidants. It is used to treat patients with liver problems and those going through detoxification.
This type of IV therapy uses high levels of antioxidants to enhance your health and combat heart disease, dementia, autism, cancer, and aging. Glutathione has also been shown to improve quality of life for patients with Parkinson’s disease.
3. Skin-Whitening Infusion
This type of IV therapy combines the powerful glutathione antioxidant with high levels of vitamin C for a lighter, fairer complexion.
Skin-whitening IV therapy can help enhance your complexion by:
- Boosting collagen production
- Combating wrinkles and fine lines
- Exfoliating the skin to reduce signs of aging
- Protecting the skin against future damage from the sun and free radicals
Glutathione promotes lighter skin tone by inhibiting the production of melanin and by converting melanin to pheomelanin, which is a less pigmented substance. The lightening process starts from the inside out, which is why it may take some time initially to see changes in your skin tone.
An added benefit of this being delivered by IV is that your whole body reaps the benefits – that is, you should notice a lighter skin tone throughout your entire body. The effect of this IV therapy can be permanent if you maintain usage and avoid overexposure to sunlight. Dr. Liu will recommend a maintenance plan to suit your needs once you have achieved your desired results.
4. High-Dose Vitamin C Infusion as an Advanced Alternative Cancer Treatment
When you are fighting cancer, your body needs all the nutrients you can muster in order to build strength and combat the disease. Dr. Liu has developed her own special therapeutic IV program to help cancer patients strive for better health.
During this IV therapy, you can receive between 25,000 and 100,000 milligrams of vitamin C directly into your bloodstream, providing your body with the immune support and enhanced strength you need to overcome many different types of disease, including certain cancers.
When high-dose vitamin C is administered, hydrogen peroxide is generated inside of the body. This causes no damage to normal, healthy cells in the body; however, it kills cancer cells because they do not have the enzyme required to break down the hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. The vitamin C also tricks cancer cells into thinking it is sugar, so the cancer sucks it up. The result is that the tumor is killed from the inside out.
This IV therapy regimen is a holistic alternative to traditional cancer treatment. Every form of cancer is different, which is why our program is customized for each patient, case, and condition. We can administer IV therapy concurrently with your traditional cancer treatment regimen, after the completion of your traditional treatment program, or in the absence of conventional treatment.
Our cancer treatment program aims to:
- Attack the cancer by stopping the growth of the tumor
- Cause the tumor to shrink and improve your quality of life
- Restore strength and health to your body by regulating metabolic function
- Help the body to enter and maintain remission through nutrient-based support
Please refer to the comprehensive review and summary about vitamin C and cancer treatment at the NIH National Cancer Institute website.
In addition, Dr. Liu actively participates in national clinical trials researching new medications or treatments for cancer and often has research-based treatment options that you may be able to participate in.
5. NAD+ IV Infusion
NAD and NAD+ are naturally occurring coenzymes in the body that are responsible for aiding in the process of energy production. NAD+ is one of the most important factors for improving mitochondrial function, making the process of turning macronutrients (protein, fats, and carbohydrates) into a usable form of energy that’s more efficient. NAD is also responsible for creating ATP – a molecule that transports energy throughout the body – and aiding the liver in breaking down fats to further create energy as fuel.
NAD+ IV infusion therapy is a minimally invasive treatment in which 250 to 500mg of NAD is delivered directly to the patient’s bloodstream via intravenous (IV) methods. Giving your body this boost of NAD directly into the bloodstream has a greater impact on the body in comparison to taking small-dose supplements over a period of time. The duration of a standard NAD+ IV infusion therapy session may last anywhere between 2 to 4 hours. Patients are able to feel the effects of NAD+ IV infusion therapy almost immediately and continue to benefit from treatments for several days at a time.
IV Therapy: Potential Risks and Side Effects
IV therapy delivers an increased amount of vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, and amino acids directly to the bloodstream, resulting in enhanced health and a strengthened immune system.
Side effects from this treatment are rare, although the way individuals react to the introduction of various nutrients may vary from person to person.
When allergic reactions occur, they are generally the result of preservative-based nutrients, but Dr. Liu and the providers at UniMed Center do not use preservative-based nutrients in any of their IV therapy regimens.
Additional potential side effects include low blood pressure leading to dizziness, fainting, and increased body temperature. Mild irritation may develop at the injection site, but this usually quickly fades away.
UniMed Center offers a variety of IV therapy options to meet your needs. Find out more by calling (732) 828-9988 or request an appointment online.
